Looking at wedding dresses; I don't have the upper arms for this but the empire waist and general floaty-ness would hide my problem areas (aka: everything below my boobs). NO I DO NOT NEED ONE PLEASE DO NOT GET THE WRONG IMPRESSION, I FIND LOOKING AT CLOTHES ONLINE A SOOTHING THING TO DO WHEN I'M STRESSED OUT AT WORK. LAST WEEK IT WAS WEDDING DRESSES, THIS WEEK IT IS SWEATERS.
Eating garlic bread non stop once I realized that I could combine things I already had in my house (bread, butter, garlic & a toaster oven) to create a childhood staple whenever I want.
Watching the new adaptation of Emma about a million times. I really hate Emma as a novel but love it as a movie. The new adaption is bright, airy but still manages to remind you that Highbury is full of children who are missing one or both of their parents. The subtext of broken homes isn't apparent to me in the text so I feel foolish for not realizing it before. I don't mind this addition- it makes characters like Miss Bates and Dumbledore Mr. Woodhouse far more sympathetic than I find them in the novel. I wasn't sold on Johnny Lee Miller as Knightley but I have to admit that he's fantastic (not as swoon-worthy as Jeremy Northam but he's very, very good) as is Romola Garai's Emma. Garai's performance makes you realize how naive and lonely Emma is in Highbury.
Watching/listening to Little Dorrit because I needed something to occupy my time before I watch Emma again. I love the modern adaptations of Dickens that are happening, they're just too great. In terms of Little Dorrit, I was a little bored of Amy Dorrit and her terrible family by about the third episode but I stuck it out for the supporting cast (including the newest Mr. Darcy . . . mmm). I'm listening to the audio book at work right now and I'm sad to say I hate Amy Dorrit more than ever.
Bending properly. I went to a back class last week and learned how to bend properly. I don't always remeber to do it (it's hard to untrain yourself) but most of the time I stop my self and chant "ENGAGE (as in engage my core muscles so they support my lower back)! BEND (bend my knees)! ASS (stick my butt out as I bend my back straight down)!" For some reason, I always think of Jean-Luc Picard when I say it- probably having to do with the ENGAGE! I usually picture him doing a hand movement like this:
!!!BONUS!!!
When I was looking for that picture of Jean-Luc, I found this amazing gif:
You're welcome, Kristin.
YOU. ARE. WELCOME.

I like Romola Garai's Emma too...but I keep picturing her as the crying/whining girl that she played in Vanity Fair. And then I'm just mad and can't let that image go. Boo!
