For Sondra

Meredith- don't start blogging again, you ruin my chances with the skunk and racoon!!

What's been going on:
  • My back still hurts like a m$!#*@!f@#@!(%#? I'm in physical therapy for at least a month which really sucks since I have to pay a copay each time I go. At $25 a pop, that really adds up.
  • I'm poor as hell thanks to my back and my American hunk'o'junk.
  • So poor that I am selling some stuff I don't need. I went to a consignment store today and sold an Esprit purse that is about a million years old. I remember buying that purse in high school and thinking I was such a grown up. Now I am thinking that I should only have smaller purses so I can carry less crap and therefore hurt my back less.
  • The consignment store was a slightly demoralizing event. I can't sell my clothes there (someone needs to start a plus-size consignment store) but I was able to sell some shoes and accessories. Of course the whole time some ultra-hipster douche was scowling at me like I shouldn't have even been allowed to be there. Oh well, at least I'm not 32 and still working retail.
  • Remy the little rescue cat that could is getting more and more cuddly. He sits in my lap in the mornings while I check my email and at night when I get home. I know this will ruin his street cred but it's adorable. Not so adorable is his new habit of walking all over my face and breasts at 6:30am.
  • My birthday is in 13 very long days. I will be 28 which is a point I would rather forget. From now on, every birthday is going to be my 26th. Jack and I will be spending the day in San Francisco, the Legion of Honor is hosting a Cartier exhibit. I think I might make looking at jewelry that is worth more than I am a traditional birthday event.

Hi Miss Mere-

Your birthday plans sound fabulous. My Mom and I are actually going to be in SF the last weekend in Feb for Chinese New Year's, and were thinking of seeing the Cartier exhibit- let me know if it's worth seeing (though anything sparkly is good!)

Hope your back is getting better and better!

Kristen
